Tuesday Meetings with a speaker
The new season will begin in October in the Osprey Suite at the Grant Arms Hotel at 2.00pm and continue on alternate Tuesdays through the winter, finishing at the end of April and will include, as usual, a Christmas Lunch and a Spring Tea as well as a good mix of speakers, which we hope will provide something for everyone. Visitors will be most welcome and will be charged a small entrance fee and encouraged to join u3a.

All meetings are at The Grant Arms, Osprey Room at 2pm 2024 9th January - AGM, followed by talk on India: People, Tigers and Birds – Sue Sykes. Sue Sykes will show pictures and talk about different aspects of her six-week trip to Northern India in 2023 : the people and places – the wild animals and the birds. 23rd January - Graham Atkinson - Mind Mapping and Memory Skills: Tips and examples to improve memory recall, boost creativity and understand complex concepts more easily. 6th February - David Adams, Cockburns Solicitors and Estate Agents - Getting your Affairs in Order: A Solicitor’s valuable advice on what is needed to do to get our affairs in order! 20th February - Frank Bardgett: Kincardine, Strathspey’s Forgotten Parish: An interesting presentation about our local history. 5th March - Kenny Wright - Alzheimer Scotland’s Outdoor Dementia Resource Centre, Badaguish: A 1st for the UK, enabling people who live with dementia, their family and carers to experience the mental and physical benefits of spending time outdoors. 19th March - Chris Rose - Artists for Albatrosses: 5 Weeks in South Georgia A presentation about Chris’ art and his expedition to South Georgia. 2nd April - Kirsten Gilmour - Conquering Mountains One Cake at a Time: The impact of Covid-19 pandemic on a local Aviemore business, The Mountain Café and how KJ’s Bothy Bakery was born and continues to grow and thrive. 16th April - SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION 30th April - The Spey Shed (Men’s Shed) – Hamish Thom. A project that offers an opportunity to do some woodwork and more importantly to get together for a chat with coffee and cake. Open not only to men (women as well)! |
